WHO ARE WE?

Our church is filled with normal people who belong to God.  Jesus is our Lord and our Savior, and we're just trying to figure out how we can work out our salvation together in all we do (Philippians 2:12-16).

Our Foundation

THE BIBLE is inspired by God and is without error.  It is the supreme and final authority for all matters of faith, truth, morality, and Christian living.

THE GOSPEL, which is the good news of salvation for mankind who has willfully sinned against God, his creator, and is consequently condemned to death and hell apart from Jesus Christ.  By the grace of God through the blood of the resurrected Jesus Christ, one can now receive salvation by putting faith in Jesus, repenting of sin, confessing Christ, and being baptized by immersion.

SOUND DOCTRINE holds firmly to the faithful message as it has been taught in Scripture, so that we will be able to give exhortation in such healthy teaching and correct those who speak against it.

THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST, consisting of all Christians everywhere, is organized into local assemblies called churches of which every Christian should be an active member.

OUR RESTORATION VALUES come from a desire to restore the church of the New Testament (its doctrines, ordinances, and faith).  The restoration ideal is simple. 'We have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, no name but the name Christian.'  It's an ideal we uphold in the spirit of unity; unity of faith, unity in the knowledge of the Son of God (Ephesians 4:13), and unity of mind, love, spirit and purpose (Philippians 2:1).  One Lord, one faith, one baptism (Ephesians 4:4-5).

The Basics of Church Life

As a pastor I try to organized the ministry activity of the church into three basic Biblical paths:

Gospel

Ministries

"Faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ"  (Romans 10:17, NET Bible).

Addition

Ministries

"Let us take thought of how to spur one another on to love and good works, not abandoning our own meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and even more so because you see the day drawing near" (Hebrews 10:24-25, NET Bible).

Equipping

Ministries

"Christ himself gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-12, NET Bible).

Behind the Basics

Gospel

Ministries

Addition

Ministries

We have a responsibility as disciples of Jesus to steward God’s grace that was given to us for others (Ephesians 3:2; 4:7; Matthew 28:18-20); that the gospel we have received we pass on to others as of first importance (1 Corinthians 15:3), making disciples of those who accept our message (Acts 2:37-41).  Gospel ministries engage this responsibility and build up the body of Christ accordingly.

Christians are the church (1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 5:30), and yet many find themselves in a situation where the things that make them the church (Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 4:1-16) are not happening.  Fellowship and commitment are often casual or inconsistent, if they happen at all (Hebrews 10:24-25).  And there is little opportunity for ministry or mutual discipleship to Jesus.  Addition ministries serve to meet these believers where they are and add them to the body.

Local
Church

Equipping

Ministries

In the local church, every Christian is a minister and needs to be united in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, matured in the practice of truth in love, and equipped for the work of ministry.  In this way the local church is built up into Christ our Lord (Ephesians 4:4-6; 4:11-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:11).  Equipping ministries work toward this end.
